Both races were exceptionally close. Dr. Martha James of Morgan State University was elected Vice President over Dr. Emilia Zarco of Adelphi University by a margin of 6 votes. In the contest for Secretary, Dr. Michelle Vaughn of Kutztown University was victorious over Dr. David Cutton of Texas A&M University-Kingsville by a margin of 4 votes.
