KINESIOLOGY & PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT, Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, CA is accepting applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure track position for Assistant Professor of Psychology/Sociology of Physical Activity, Exercise and Sport, beginning September 12, 2019. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required: Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Kinesiology or closely related field. Preferred: University teaching experience and research, publication, and external funding history related to psychological and sociological aspects of physical activity, exercise, and sport. Qualifications / Required Skills
Doctoral Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Kinesiology or closely related field. Ability to teach the following courses: sport and exercise psychology; applied sport psychology; perspectives in physical activity, sport and gender; and/or sports, media and popular culture. Must also be able to teach one or more of the following: introduction to perspectives in physical activity and motor development. Ability to supervise undergraduate research, demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and to involving undergraduate students in research, and develop and maintain scholarly activities leading to publication or other external validation.

Currently, the department has eleven tenured to tenure-track professors, four full-time lecturers, and eight part-time lecturers. The department serves approximately 500 majors. In addition to our standing B.S. Kinesiology program, we have a new B.S. in Public Health program, which will accept its first class of students during the 2018-2019 academic year.
