Job Description / Duties
The Department of Kinesiology is seeking a Clinical Instructor of Kinesiology to serve as Internship Coordinator. All coordinating roles and functions related to field experiences are the responsibility of this position. Duties include: facilitating and completing all assignments with local internship sites to secure field placements each semester for students in exercise science and sport and fitness management programs; collecting, organizing, and maintaining accreditation data, departmental learning outcomes assessment, and required reporting data relevant to student intern field experiences and supervisor performance; coordinating the hiring and preparation of Kinesiology internships supervisors; coordinating the supervision of student interns and the student internship orientation; attending and representing the Department of Kinesiology at orientation events for prospective and enrolled students and their families; facilitating communication with local site administrators and personnel regarding their internship expectations and requirements; cultivating relationships with new and existing internship sites; facilitating student preparation for upcoming internship experiences; serving as a liaison between the university and internship sites for the maintenance and development of Affiliation Agreements; maintaining and updating the Kinesiology Internship Manual; managing the application to Kinesiology internship process as detailed in the Kinesiology Internship Manual; supervising and evaluating internship candidates while on site and giving feedback for their professional development; and performing other duties as assigned by the Dean of the College of Education. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with an attention to detail and deep knowledge of job requirements in the broad field of Kinesiology.

Qualifications / Required Skills
Earned Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Sport Management/Administration, or a related field
Teaching and/or administrative experience in higher education
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience managing an internship program, supervising interns, or leading other initiatives that demonstrate the ability to carry out the responsibilities of this position
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Public relations and marketing skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
The Department of Kinesiology is one of the newest additions to the UAH campus and has experienced tremendous growth in its first years. Approximately 200 students are Kinesiology majors with continued growth expected. It currently consists of three programs with two degree offerings. Students can earn a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Exercise Science or Physical Education. Additionally, students can earn a B.S. in Sport and Fitness Management. Internship experiences are offered for all, but Physical Education works in conjunction with the Department of Curriculum and Instruction to fulfill internship requirements for teacher education candidates.
Salary: his is a faculty position at the rank of Clinical Instructor. Salary will be competitive and commensurate to rank, experience, and qualifications. An excellent comprehensive benefits package is available.
