Job Description / Duties
The Department of Kinesiology invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, Clinical Assistant Professor faculty position in Exercise Science. This position requires the applicant to teach a variety of courses, and within various disciplines, in the department. Teaching content areas include: Exercise Physiology, Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Testing and Prescription, Physical Activity for Special Populations, and/or Sports Nutrition. The successful candidate will also be required to teach in both of our undergraduate and graduate Kinesiology degree programs. Clinical faculty workload assignments generally consist of 80% Teaching and 20% Service, with summer teaching opportunities available. This position is location-specific to the Boise State University campus, in Boise, Idaho, and requires the utilization of various teaching modalities, e.g., in-person, hybrid and online. The start date for this position is August, 2023.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
● Master of Science in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field
● Evidence of successful college/university teaching
Preferred Qualifications
● Doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or closely related field. Candidates completing their doctorate (ABD) or interested in starting a doctoral program are encouraged to apply.
● Minimum of three years of college/university teaching in varied exercise science-related areas
● Online and/or hybrid teaching experience
● ACSM and/or CSCS Certification, or ability to complete in a year’s time
