Job Description / Duties

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Sport Management, or related discipline with evidence of teaching effectively in a wide range of college courses. Applicants who are ABD for the terminal degree may be considered depending on expected completion date. Candidates should have a commitment to work in a dynamic work setting with a diverse student population.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Springfield College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Sport Management. This is a nine-month, tenure-track faculty appointment within the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation beginning August 2019. Faculty rank and appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The ideal candidates will have the ability to provide leadership for the growing Sport Management program and teach core courses in the curriculum. Evidence of scholarship in the form of research and/or presentations at the local, regional, state, or national level is required. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience in internship relationship building and advisement, are familiar with COSMA curriculum review, and show a strong desire to enrich and expand our curriculum. Candidates that can expand the cultural perspectives of the program are particularly welcome.
