Job Description / Duties
Serve as full-time tenure track assistant professor of Kinesiology with specialization in Motor Behavior (Motor Learning/Motor Control). Provide instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in area of expertise; advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students; provide service to the department, college, and professional organizations; develop an active research agenda that leads to nationally/internationally refereed publications and presentations; pursue external funding for research; direct graduate/undergraduate research projects.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Doctoral degree is required (i.e., earned doctorate in Kinesiology or closely related discipline); must have an emphasis in Motor Behavior (Motor Learning/Motor Control). Candidates who are ABD at time of appointment may be considered with expected completion of doctorate within one year from appointment date.
Additional Information
The Kinesiology Department is housed in the School of Professional Studies. The degrees offered include: BS in Exercise Science, Sport Studies, Coaching, and Fitness Development. A MS in Exercise Science and in Athletic Training are also offered. The department has 26 full time faculty. The Athletic Training Program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The department is characterized by a creative faculty and is seeking candidates who can contribute to innovative approaches to integrate kinesiology into both campus and community programming.
