Job Description / Duties

We are seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation beginning in Fall 2022. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.

The ideal candidate will be able to identify and develop programmatic needs, such as curriculum development and learning objectives; promote and optimize student success and student retention; participate in professional development and university service opportunities; serve on university committees; and will assume and effectively perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will hold a master's degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation and have demonstrated passion for teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with doctoral credentials.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

-Master's degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation or related fields
-Demonstrated passion for teaching.
-Teaching experience
-Ability to promote the mission, vision, core values, and strategic initiatives of Langston University.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Doctoral degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation or related fields
-Experience in K-12 school system
- Commitment to a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with constituents across the college and university.
- Passion for teaching and advising with an emphasis in Physical Education and Coaching.
