Job Description / Duties

The teaching load is 9 hours or equivalent per academic semester, primarily in undergraduate exercise science. Potential courses include exercise physiology, exercise prescription, fitness assessment, and anatomy, and/or other courses based upon knowledge and expertise. Administrative/Clinical load is 3 semester hours or equivalent including duties such as coordinating internships, supervising Graduate Assistants, and supervising exercise testing. The faculty member will also be expected to perform active engagement in department, college, University, and professional service activities and other related duties as assigned by the School Chair.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a master’s degree in exercise physiology or closely related field from an accredited college or university by time of appointment. Experience in teaching and/or exercise programming is also required.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have an earned doctorate in exercise physiology or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Additional consideration will also be given to applicants who hold a professional certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (Exercise Physiologist [ACSM-EP], or Clinical Exercise Physiologist [ACSM-CEP]), have experience in clinical exercise programs (e.g. cardiac rehabilitation), and experience mentoring or supervising students.
