Department / Job Summary:
The Division of Health & Exercise Science invites applications for full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Exercise Science. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, student-centered, and collegial division with 10 other tenure-track faculty and several non-tenure track faculty.
Western Oregon University is on the quarter system, and the teaching load is three courses per term. The primary teaching assignment will include instruction in kinesiology, biomechanics, motor behavior, advanced topics in biomechanics, advanced topics in motor behavior, and foundations of exercise science. Engaging in high-impact educational practice, regular exercise science-related scholarship, and providing meaningful service to the division, university, and profession is expected.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
• Earned Doctorate (Ph.D.) in exercise science, kinesiology, movement science or closely related field is required (ABD considered if degree requirements are completed prior to September 16, 2021)
• Preference will be given to candidates with an established record of successful teaching and scholarship.
