About the Conference Theme
Leading Beyond the Campus: Driving Change as Experts
This year’s conference theme will focus on how we can succeed as entrepreneurs, as leaders of change, and how we can build the brand of our person, program, and profession. Possible topics include innovation within and external to kinesiology programs, how individuals can build their expertise and brand external to the academic institution, and new approaches to promoting kinesiology and those within the discipline.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Hal Lawson, Professor of Educational Policy & Leadership and Professor of Social Welfare, University at Albany, State University of New York

Dr. Lawson will provide a framework for understanding how kinesiology has developed as a discipline and profession into what it is today. He will provide possible ways of viewing institutional and academic changes that kinesiology scholars can design and execute. NAKHE members are encouraged to "think outside the box" and look at the discipline's possibility in light of where the field is going - and more importantly where it ought to go.

Dr. Lawson has prepared an exploratory analysis of the Keynote Address for distribution before the conference to facilitate discussion anywhere, but especially at the conference.
