Position: Teaching Faculty in Athletic Coaching

Job Description / Duties
The successful candidate will be required to develop and teach graduate-level courses online, be an advisor and mentor to graduate students, and provide service to the Center and College.
The faculty member will hold a nine-month contract, teaching four classes in each fall and spring semesters. Teaching load may be reduced for other administrative opportunities, and opportunities for teaching in summer sessions may be available.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Candidates for this position are required to have:
- An earned doctorate (ABD candidates may be considered) in Coaching Education or a closely related field from an accredited university
- Experience teaching at the collegiate level
- Several years of coaching experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Online teaching experience
- Experience designing learning and educational methods using a wide variety of learning technologies
- Experience teaching a diverse and international student body
- Scholarly activity, especially in the coaching field.
The anticipated start date for this position is August 2020.

FSU COACH: Interdisciplinary Center for Athletic Coaching at Florida State University (FSU) is seeking a Specialized Teaching faculty. FSU COACH is one of the first academic Centers in the United States dedicated to preparing and equipping the next generation of athletic coaches and sports professionals with evidence-based education and research that maximizes coaching excellence. We prepare future and improve current coaches by offering a newly approved online graduate certificate in athletic coaching. Plans are ongoing to expand programming to include an online Master's degree. Further, Center personnel are engaged in interdisciplinary scholarship and outreach projects that support university, local, state, national, and international organizations and individuals associated with the coaching profession.
