January 4, 2023, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

A free, professional learning opportunity. All conference registrants are welcome. Lunch is included. Advanced registration is required.

Building on the work of social justice scholars in physical education and movement science, this workshop includes practical movement strategies that physical educators can use to promote self-awareness, self in relation to others, and strategies for engaging in critical dialogue with others for the purpose of understanding similarities and differences between all people. Activities include bodywork, breathing and grounding strategies presented by an international group of scholars. Participants will engage in activities and critical dialogues related to their own experiences with the bodywork.

This pre-conference workshop is supported by the NAKHE Hellison Interdisciplinary Research Grant and the grant will support up to 6 hotel rooms (one night per room) for participants to come in early for workshop. To apply, please email Dr. Kanae Haneishi () for more information. .
