July 7 - 8, 2022
July 7 - 8, 2022
Northwestern State University
Natchitoches, Louisiana
SUSTAINABILITY DNA:
Shaping Economically & Environmentally Sustainable Programs in Kinesiology
Sustainability refers to “the balance between the environment, equity, and economy” (UCLA, 2022). Over the past few years, the world has experienced a multitude of major life events and subsequent changes (e.g., pandemic, political unrest). How do we as leaders foster human connections, boost collective intelligence, and build accountability in order to sustain our programs into the future? In this workshop, participants will learn how to create sustainable organizations (e.g., programs, departments, colleges, universities, associations) that thrive despite everchanging pressures and challenges.
Participants will:
- Investigate economic sustainability models, trends, and best practices.
- Analyze personal goals and develop priorities for programs, departments, and organizations.
- Identify organizational efficiencies and capitalize on them.
- Identify barriers and opportunities as well as challenges and solutions to shape their programs and departments.
- Develop sustainability principles tailored toward specific programs, departments, and organizations.
- Develop a draft of a sustainability plan to take back to their institutions.
