Nominate a Deserving Colleague for an Award by August 1

The Distinguished Administrator, Scholar, Service, and Teaching Awards are given each year at the NAKHE conference to honor and celebrate individuals who have dedicated their professional lives to the disciplines of Kinesiology, Physical Education, and higher education. The recipients will receive their awards at the 2027 NAKHE Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on January 5-8, 2027. 

Submit a Paper for the Hally Beth Poindexter Young Scholar Award by August 1

New professionals employed for 5 or fewer years and currently working at an institution of higher education are invited to submit a paper to the Hally Beth Poindexter Young Scholar, Open Paper Competition. The winner  will present the paper at a special session at the 2027 conference. In addition to this unique presentation opportunity, the Hally Beth Poindexter Young Scholar receives a $250 monetary prize and a free NAKHE membership for the upcoming year.

Graduate Students: Submit a Joanna Davenport Graduate Student Poster Award

NAKHE invites graduate students to submit poster presentations for the 2027 NAKHE Conference. The selection of the poster award is based on scholarly content, organization, and pertinence to the field of kinesiology or physical education from an interdisciplinary perspective. The Poster Award winner will receive a $250 monetary prize and a free NAKHE membership for the upcoming year. The deadline for poster submission is August 1.

Call for NAKHE Fellow Nominations

Nominations for NAKHE Fellows are now open. All NAKHE members can nominate their NAKHE colleagues for this prestigious designation. NAKHE Fellows are acknowledged leaders in the field of kinesiology. Nomination form and accompanying materials must be received by August 1 for inclusion in the 2027 Class of Fellows. 

Submit a Proposal for the 2027 NAKHE Conference

The 2027 Annual NAKHE Conference will be held January 5 - 8 at the Eldorado Hotel and Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The conference theme is Blazing New Trails: Exploring Innovative Frontiers Through Bold Perspectives.
