Job Description / Duties

The candidate will be expected to provide leadership for the development and delivery of coaching education programs, as well as develop a program of research and scholarly activity in the realm of coaching education. In addition, the candidate will provide service to the college and university, including the potential to serve on doctoral committees and supervise student research.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Candidates for this position should have an earned doctorate in Physical Education or a related field. The College of Education is seeking a candidate with clear expressed interest in coaching education to prepare ICACE to be the leading university-affiliated resource for coaching education and research. The successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude for conducting research, teaching and mentoring students, as well as a commitment to both the College and University. We are seeking candidates with evidence of strong scholarship and evidence of extramural research grant funding in an area that is consistent with coaching education research.

Additional Information

This is a nine-month, tenure earning position at the Professor rank, with possible summer employment. The anticipated start date for this position is 8/2019.

The Interdisciplinary Center for Athletic Coaching Excellence (ICACE) will be housed in Florida State University’s College of Education. The ICACE has a bold mission to prepare and equip the next generation of athletic coaches and sports professionals with evidence-based education and research that maximizes coaching excellence. The ICACE will be led by a tenure-track faculty member at the Professor rank who will serve as Founding Director.
