Job Description / Duties

As the chief academic officer of the School of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, the Dean is responsible for the stewardship of the School’s fiscal, human, curricular, and facilities resources. The Dean is expected to trust department heads who know the details and needs of their distinct programs and to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. EHHS faculty are eager to work alongside a Dean who is open to new ideas and willing to partner with them in the implementation of programs. The Dean of EHHS is also expected to collaborate with other divisions at Meredith College in support of the College as a whole. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, collaborative academic leader to guide and inspire the four departments within EHHS.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in a field of one of the disciplines in EHHS; academic credentials appropriate for faculty appointment in one of the disciplines in EHHS; academic administrative experience as a department head, chair, or other leadership role; demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion; and familiarity with specialized accreditation requirements and processes.
