The contemporary sport landscape offers exciting opportunities for sport administration teacher-scholars who incorporate an experiential, hands-on methodology to assist aspiring sport industry professionals in cultivating and refining the skills needed to succeed in this rapidly changing field. In the Ball State University School of Kinesiology, housed in the College of Health, our programs provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact physical activity has on health, society, and quality of life for the general population. The Sport Administration Program graduates industry professionals who blend an understanding of athletics with business acumen and creative instinct to positively impact sport and communities. We invite applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Sport Administration Program to join us in preparing sport professionals. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in the graduate and undergraduate Sport Administration curricula, conducting research and advising graduate student research, and engaging in professional service. This position is a 10-month, full time tenure-track position with possible summer teaching.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications: We seek faculty candidates who have earned, or will have earned their doctorate in Sport Management/Administration or a closely related field from an accredited college or university by time of appointment. Candidates will have evidence of successful teaching in Sport Management/Administration courses, evidence of scholarly productivity through national/international publications and presentations, and evidence of ability to pursue external grant funding.

Preferred Qualifications: Practical experience in the sport industry is not required, but welcomed given the unique demands of the curriculum and realities of working in sport.
