Job Description / Duties

Tennessee Tech invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Exercise Science beginning August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, maintain an active research agenda, and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession. Applicants must demonstrate documented success in teaching, evidence of scholarly productivity, and service contributions.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Sport Performance, or a closely related field from an accredited university, at least three years of full-time university-level teaching experience, evidence of teaching excellence, a record of scholarly work, and experience teaching in online formats.

Preferred qualifications include experience managing an Exercise Physiology or Sport Performance laboratory, success in teaching and managing undergraduate and graduate courses in D2L or other online platforms, course and curriculum development, grant procurement or sponsored research, and experience with strategic planning, accreditation, partnership development, and the integration of emerging technologies such as AI into instruction.
