Job Description / Duties
Interested candidates for this position will have an earned doctorate from a regional accredited institution in Physical Education or related discipline. Applicants who are ABD for the terminal degree may be considered depending on expected completion date. The successful candidate will teach physical education pedagogy and content courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Graduate coursework will include masters and doctoral level students. Teaching experience and content knowledge at the secondary level will be emphasized. Additional responsibilities include supervision of student teachers, academic advisement and graduate research advisement. School-based teaching experience at the elementary, middle and/or secondary level is required.

Springfield College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Physical Education Pedagogy. This is a nine-month, tenure-track appointment within the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation beginning August 2019. Expertise in the field, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and a strong commitment to scholarly and service activities are expected. Preference will be given to candidates who can bring diverse perspectives to this growing department and who are motivated to help students succeed.
