Job Description / Duties

The School of Kinesiology at Ball State University invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Lecturer of Exercise Science. Candidates with a doctorate may be considered for the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor. This full-time non-tenure-line position is available August 15, 2025, for the academic year. Responsibilities include teaching in the areas such as exercise physiology, exercise prescription, fitness assessment, and anatomy; administration of the Clinical Exercise Physiology’s Adult Physical Fitness Program and/or exercise testing laboratory within the Human Performance Laboratory; and active engagement in department, college, University, and professional service. This position reports to the Chair of the School of Kinesiology.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Applicants must have a master’s degree in exercise physiology or closely related field from an accredited college or university by time of appointment.
Experience in teaching and/or exercise programming is also required.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred candidates will have an earned doctorate in exercise physiology or closely related field from an accredited college or university. Additional consideration will also be given to applicants who hold a professional certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (Exercise Physiologist [ACSM-EP], or Clinical Exercise Physiologist [ACSM-CEP]), have experience in clinical exercise programs (e.g. cardiac rehabilitation), and experience mentoring or supervising students.
Requires successful completion of a background check.

Salary: $47,000 to $50,000.
