Leadership in Kinesiology and Physical Education
National Association for Kinesiology and Physical Education in Higher Education

The 2006 NAKPEHE Administrator Pre-Conference will focus on leadership in kinesiology and physical education. This pre-conference theme includes developing leaders, leadership characteristics, the difference between management and leadership, and other topics that can be discussed under the general concept of leadership.

The NAKPEHE Administrator Pre-Conference provides opportunities to share administrative "secrets" in a professional and scholarly setting. More importantly, those who attend the pre-conference find the networking and shared experiences invaluable. A short list of benefits that can be developed include:

o Suggestions of how to solve personnel issues
o Ideas for developing revenue streams
o Administrative perspectives on program development

These and other aspects of leadership will be the focus of the 2006 Administrator Pre-Conference, which is held Wednesday evening, January 4, and will conclude Thursday morning, January 5. Sessions include both presentations and seminars by acknowledged leaders in kinesiology and physical education.

Faculty and administrators interested in presenting the Administrator Pre-Conference are encouraged to submit a proposal at the NAKPEHE website. Go to to submit a proposal for the 2006 NAKPEHE Pre-Conference. Please designate the "Administrator's Pre-Conference" option (in item number 7) at the bottom of the submission page. Registration for the Pre-Conference is also good for the NAKPEHE Conference that begins Thursday evening, and continues through Saturday afternoon.

Proposals are due September 15, 2005.
